Hypertech Power Programmer

Hypertech adds to the Jeep mystique with the first Power Programmer for 1996-2004 Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee models with 4.0-liter engines. With more power, more torque and more custom features, the Power Programmer #50012 makes driving a Jeep more fun, both on the highway and when the pavement ends.

Jeep owners can improve their vehicle's performance with the new Power Programmer as easily as changing TV channels with a remote control. The Power Programmer recalibrates the Jeep's onboard computer with dyno-developed and road-tested fuel and ignition tuning software. The result is an improvement of up to 13 horsepower and 21 ft./lbs. of torque over stock tuning with regular gas.

Hypertech's exclusive Dual Fuel Power Tuning for Jeeps produces virtually the same power gains with either regular unleaded or premium gas – competitors' tuning for regular gas typically make no more power than the stock tuning. With rising gas prices, using less expensive regular unleaded saves an average of 25 cents per gallon. This means the Power Programmer virtually pays for itself.

The Power Programmer also allows Jeep owners to customize the onboard computer. The rpm limiter can be adjusted to extend the engine's operating range up to 500 rpm for more pulling power and faster acceleration. The top speed limiter can be raised to match the speed rating of factory-approved tires. The Power Programmer also has the ability to read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) stored in the vehicle's onboard computer. This feature allows the owner to view detailed information on the vehicle's operation without purchasing expensive diagnostic computers or scanners used by dealership technicians.

Hypertech Power Tuning can be installed in minutes - without tools or knowledge of computers. The Power Programmer plugs into the underdash diagnostic connector; the owner answers a few simple "Yes/No" questions by pushing a button, and the Power Programmer does the rest. In about the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee, the Power Programmer downloads the Power Tuning software and stores the stock tuning, which can be restored at any time.
