Jeep Restorations
Approximately 5 years ago a good customer asked us to "clean up" his stock 86 CJ7. The paint was fading, the tires were stock, the interior had seen better days. So we did what I would now call a minor restoration. We recommended some small rust in the typical places (Florida truck, very clean), some minor engine work, stripped the whole truck for paint. No tub or front clip removal, painted it and installed lift, tires and rims, bed-liner, a new interior. It was fun and we had made a very happy customer.
Since then we've done many more, each time learning a little more and going a little further with the process. The last few we've done, we've taken the truck down to every last part (full restoration) sand blasting and spraying them. We have come to learn this process does not take much longer but changes the final product immensely. We paint areas on the Jeep that weren't painted at the factory. The interiors are sprayed with a liner after we make sure any rust that existed is gone. The bottom of the body of the Jeep, as well as the firewalls are painted before the rest of the tub is painted. All body parts are painted individually to ensure coverage. Then we reassemble, usually changing just about every part on the Jeep. Eg: Gas tank, sending units, gauges, lights, flares etc. I will say it is not inexpensive but we feel the level of quality makes it a bargain.
We would love to help you restore your CJ. If you don't have one, we usually are building at least one at all times that will be for sale upon completion. Catch us early enough and you can tell us exactly how to build it!
